- Culture and managers weigh twice as much as individual effort: 67% organization vs 32% person (Microsoft · Work Trend Index 2026).
- Agents are already inside: ×15 more active agents in Microsoft 365 in a single year (×18 in large companies).
- But governance almost never: only 1 in 5 organizations (19%) is ready; 81% are loose pilots, with no owner and no defined human control.
Leading agents is not «using ChatGPT at work»
The new role Microsoft calls the «agent boss» (2025) is not about your team opening a chatbot. Leading agents means deciding what a person approves, keeping a trace of every action and controlling the cost per operation.
